PROKOFIEV Sinfonia Concertante
RACHMANINOV Symphony No. 1
Trinity Orchestra
Conductor: Alexander Walker
Cello Soloist: Miguel Ángel Villeda Cerón
Leader: Marina Solarek
Our season final, expertly conducted by Alexander Walker, is a celebration of orchestral power and virtuosity.
Bringing the season to a dramatic conclusion is Prokofiev’s thrilling Sinfonia Concertante – a dazzling showpiece for cello and orchestra, featuring celebrated soloist Miguel Ángel Villeda Cerón – and Rachmaninov’s mighty Symphony No. 1, with its darkly romantic energy surging from the very first bars.
Come along at 7pm for our free pre-concert talk to hear more about the music.
*Please note that Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture, originally advertised in the programme for this concert, will no longer be performed.
