Trinity Orchestra’s ever-popular Family Concert returns with an entertaining programme of classical music to be enjoyed by all ages.

This time we’re getting up to some animal antics with music celebrating creatures great and small. We’ll create a buzz with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, go batty with excerpts of J Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, and meet butterflies and bears in Elgar’s second Wand of Youth Suite.

For the afternoon’s centerpiece we present Prokofiev’s ever-popular fairytale Peter and the Wolf – an enduring hit with adults and children alike due to its enchanting musical depictions of the story’s colourful animal and human characters.

Instrumentalists aged 6+ can also take part in a pre-concert workshop at 2pm. Bring along an instrument (not electric) and join in with fun animal-themed musical activities led by acclaimed workshop leader Neil Valentine, culminating in a performance with Trinity Orchestra in the concert itself.
