STRAUSS Don Juan
KORNGOLD Violin Concerto
TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony No. 6, Pathétique

Claudio Di Meo – conductor
Dimitar Burov – violin

Trinity Orchestra’s exciting new season opens with a programme of works by three towering musical giants under the baton of guest conductor Claudio Di Meo.

The evening will include the masterly tone poem Don Juan by Richard Strauss, with which the composer launched his international career at the age of 24, and Korngold’s most popular work, his Violin Concerto – written in the same lush, lyrical style as his wonderful film scores – starring virtuoso Bulgarian violinist Dimitar Burov as soloist.

Finally, the orchestra presents Tchaikovsky’s dark but beautiful Pathétique Symphony; a work of unflinching emotional intensity, and arguably the composer’s most enduringly famous work.

Join us for a pre-concert talk at 7pm.
